R&D Chemist
Job Description
- Perform analysis and quality control of epoxy resins, curing agents, fire retardants, plasticizers, and anti-corrosion agents.
- Synthesize and modify materials for large-scale applications, including Artemis rockets, concrete infrastructure, fracking plugs, and military electronics.
- Develop fire retardant formulations for residential and outdoor use, including acrylic primers and wildfire-resistant latex coatings.
- Reverse engineer an imidazole catalyst using FTIR, enabling in-house production with enhanced shelf life, improved compatibility, and reduced manufacturing costs.
- Lead international project initiatives and oversee plant production during new product launches, applying chemical engineering thermodynamics to optimize process efficiency and scale-up.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proficient in materials processing and thermodynamics for research and development.
- Experience in the mechanisms of heat transfer, heat conduction, convection, and radiation.
