Resoflex R-296 and R-446

When blended into your resin system, INTUMAX® will react to heat and or flame to foam and form a thick, high yield char barrier. Coatings only 3mils (3/1000 of an inch.) thick will foam up to 1.5 inches and the char formed will have good structural integrity. Your protection will not fly off into the air. This char barrier will extinguish fire and prevent further flame spread. In fact, the protective char barrier can withstand direct flame from a propane torch for a minimum of 1 hour. epoxy curing agents, nadic methyl anhydrides, hexahydrphthalic, succinic, methyl tetrahydrophthalic, dodecenyl, resoflex, succinimide, intumescents.

Unsaturated Liquid Anhydrides
The workhorses of the epoxy filament winding, pultrusion and casting and potting applications are the unsaturated liquid anhydrides. Offering superior performance, low cost and low viscosity, unsaturated liquid anhydrides have excellent electrical properties as demonstrated in their use in potting and encapsulation of ignition coils, flyback transformers, printed circuit boards, etc. These are equally efficient when used to fabricate composites.

Saturated Liquid Anhydrides
When moisture resistance, UV stability  and crisp, clean, color and color retention are needed, saturated liquid anhydrides    are the answer. These anhydrides are used    in L.E.D. displays, as well as in the production of bushings and insulators for outdoor electrical transmission equipment.

Chemically, these plasticizers completely saturated and thus possess remarkable  stability and are not affected by heat, cold, ultra violet light, oxygen, ozone, or other factors that contribute to the deterioration of organic materials. Compounds in which Resoflex R-296 or R-446 serve as the plasticizer exhibit the following properties:
